What is CueSift?

CueSift accepts public links and share text from 12 major video platforms. It checks for an available caption track first and falls back to speech transcription when needed. YouTube and Bilibili are stable integrations; Douyin, TikTok, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, Instagram, Facebook, X, Vimeo, Weibo, and Ixigua are Beta because their public pages and access controls change frequently. Failed tasks are not charged. CueSift does not bypass private, paid, deleted, login-only, or region-restricted videos, and it does not read text burned into video frames.

Frequently asked questions

YouTube subtitle extraction, explained

What is a YouTube subtitle extractor?

A YouTube subtitle extractor turns an available caption track into editable text with timestamps. CueSift checks public YouTube videos for captions, lets you review the result in a browser workspace, and exports plain text or standard subtitle files.

Can CueSift process a video without captions?

If a public video has no usable caption track, CueSift can use speech transcription when that processing path is available. Audio quality, language, music, and overlapping speakers can affect the result, so generated subtitles should be reviewed before publishing.

Which subtitle formats can I download?

CueSift exports TXT for plain text, SRT for widely supported timed subtitles, and VTT for web video players. The editor keeps timestamps visible so you can correct text and timing before downloading a file.

Which YouTube videos are supported?

CueSift supports publicly accessible YouTube watch videos and Shorts. Private, members-only, deleted, age-gated, or region-restricted videos may be unavailable. CueSift does not read subtitles that are permanently burned into video frames.

Is CueSift affiliated with YouTube?

No. CueSift is an independent third-party product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. Users are responsible for processing only content they have the right to use.
